What we collect

When you order on this website we collect what’s needed to fulfill the order: your name, email address, shipping address and the items you bought. If you order a custom pet portrait, we also collect the photos you upload, your pet’s name, your background color and font choices, and any special message. If you email us, we receive your message and email address.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your full card or bank details go directly to Stripe (or to Klarna or Affirm if you choose to pay with them) and are never stored on this website.

How we use it

We use your information to process payments, make and ship your order, create and deliver your portrait, send order, payment and shipping emails, answer your questions, prevent fraud, and meet tax and legal obligations. We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the services that help us run the store: Stripe and the payment provider you choose; our email service for order emails; USPS or UPS, which receive your name and shipping address to deliver your package; and our website hosting and storage providers. Portrait photos and finished portraits are stored privately and are never published or shared with payment providers.

Portrait photos and artwork

Photos you upload for a portrait are stored privately with our hosting provider and can be viewed only by the store owner in a password-protected admin area; they are never public. We use them only to create your portrait. Your finished portrait is stored privately too, and can be downloaded only through the private link we email you, which expires after 30 days.

We automatically delete your photos and the finished portrait once 30 days have passed since we delivered the portrait (or since a refund), and photos uploaded for orders that are never paid once 7 days have passed. Deletion runs as part of the store’s normal daily activity, so it can occasionally happen a few days later. We keep your pet’s name and your choices with the order record. You can ask us to delete your photos sooner by emailing bonafidepetscompany@gmail.com.

Cookies and browser storage

This website saves your cart in your browser so it’s still there when you come back, and remembers your shipping address for the current browser tab during checkout. The store owner’s admin area uses a secure sign-in cookie. We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies. Stripe uses cookies during checkout to process payments securely and prevent fraud.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept in our payment system as needed for accounting, tax and customer support. Portrait photos and finished portraits are kept as described above.

Your choices

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information by emailing bonafidepetscompany@gmail.com. We may need to keep some order records where the law requires it.

Children

This store isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
